Product Features ;

Beko was designed with continued consultation with care professionals throughout its development. The product was shaped by the users making Beko a truly commercially viable product.

Top reservoir separated from base.

Top and base;
The top is removable and can be washed. The base contains the electronics and is designed to be wipe down cleaned.

To remove the top the push button is pulled out to disengage the valve and allow the reservoir to be lifted off.

The LED for the visual alarm is situated on the top of the location spike on the base.

The base has intuitative cup placement making it difficult to miss the glass when pouring. The push button and gravity feed arrangement make the device usable for those crippled by arthritis. It takes away the difficult task of lifting and pouring a water jug.

Variable water input and alarm dials.

Variable water input and alarms;
Patient water input can be changed using a dial on the back. Larger patients need more water, and similarly smaller patients require less.

The water input can be ramped up for cancer patients in response to chemotherapy and burns patients to help recovery.

A choice of alarms can also be set, visual or audible. There is also the possibility of a vibrating alarm.

Sleep, on/off button and ON indicator flashing LED.

Sleep button;
Patients or carers can press sleep once when they are going to bed. This turns off the device for 10 hours and restarts automatically reset and ready for the next day.

The on/off button is accompanied with a slow flashing LED to give the patient confidence that the device is working properly.

Personalisation with photograph/picture holder - For most, this would be pure novelty, but for those suffering from Alzheimer's, this could be a useful tool to provide continuity when they’re moved from room to room (Identifiable items have been found to help reduce disorientation in Alzheimer patients).

Battery life - Lithium Ion Cylindrical batteries giving up to 20 days battery life before recharging is necessary

Temperature adjust - Inbuilt temperature sensor linked to micro controller allows patient dose to be increased on hotter days to compensate for extra sweating.

Sensor and intelligence - Knows when it has been filled up or reservoir has been changed.

Cooling - Possibility of a peltier plate cooling add-on. However this requires mains power and is not a cheap add-on.

Tube attachment - For patients who are unable to lift a glass. Gravity feed assists waters flow making it easier to drink.
